Good idea on a forum.....OK...I'll start. When I depart the USA I will be on the new Battlewing tires that came on the new 2014 ST I am going to buy in Seattle. We are 2 up so expect signigicant tire wear. Tires will probably be shot by the time we reach Panama 3500 miles after Seattle. So we will need new rubber somewhere in C America. Heard that Guatamala City BMW has K60s Hiendanau at almost US prices and will mount them up for $40. That would be perfect if its still the case next year when we get there. Juan...I think you said we could get tires in Bogata as well though maybe at higher prices...if the tires are still good that could be plan B. I would like to start the trip on K60s but it seems wastefull to toss perfectly good and new Battlewings as we will not be back for years.....
Has anyone else sourced tires like Mitas or K60s in C America? Seems like some cities have bike parts for big bikes and others not a chance. For example...Managua has nothing of interest but Quito would be a great place to buy quality camping gear...lots of choices at prices at fair. Good to know where things are.
