It depends. How many miles do you have on the bike?
My 2012 started becoming annoying around 65k miles with vibes in the 3k-4200 rpm range. Mostly under load, like climbing a long hill at a steady speed. I was fortunate to get involved with one of the fellows doing modifications to the original clutch baskets and he made most of the vibes go away. Which was freaking awesome since I had that in time for a 30 day, 8k mile Alaska trip. While on that trip in June of '14, Yamaha released the '14 part to the part system at a bizzare low price and I ordered it from my laptop while in Alaska or the Yukon for $27! When I got home, I suffered a CCT failure the day I was taking the bike in for the valve check/CCT change and clutch parts swap. After, which took 4 months, I do think the bike was smoother, but at that point I had a full top end rebuild and lots of other new parts, plus the '14 clutch basket, so it was hard for me to make a comparison.
Up until 50k or so, I never noticed the vibes. Every bike is different and every rider has their own sensitivity to vibes. Strictly IMHO, low mile owners probably don't need to spend the money on the Gen II basket unless and until the vibes in the 3-4k range start to bother them.
