This trip started brewing last winter when we were at the International Motorcycle Show in Minneapolis . I just happened to pick up a free map they were handing out at a booth, It was titled “Lake Superior Circle Tour”. On the map it has about 10 waterfalls listed, For there to be waterfalls all around the lake there must be a lot of elevation changes. So I started researching on the internet and it looked a lot better than I had thought.
We figured it out to be about 2,500 miles from here up and around the lake and back, We would need about 5 days.
It ended up being 2,606
I had showed some pictures to our daughter and next thing I knew she said her and Joey were coming too.
So when we got off work on Tuesday before the 4th of July we hit the road.

The first night we made it up to Pikes Peak State Park near McGreger,Iowa.

This is from the overlook at Pikes Peak, of the Mighty Mississippi

The next day we worked our way up to Lake Superior through Wisconsin then to Duluth.
This is the first waterfall we seen on the trip. Amnicon Falls

As we rode up the west side of Lake Superior we went up in the Boundary Waters on the Gunflint Trail. We camped up in there by a lake.
This is at the end of the Gunflint Trail at Sea Gull Lake.

Split Rock Lighthouse.

Gooseberry Falls

We stopped at Grand Portage National Monument.

Lake Superior

I'll work on this more tomorrow, Steve

I had thought that it was basically flat up in this part of the country , but all the way around the top through Canada is just about like riding in the Black Hills the whole time.

When we crossed back into the states at Sault Ste. Marie, Emily wanted to go on south to see the Mackinaw bridge. That sounded good to me.

Then it was back north to Superior. We stayed along the shore as much as we could.

We went up into the Keweenaw Peninsula and on the way to Copper Harbor is a snow depth gauge.

A little ways past Copper Harbor the paved road ends but we wanted to go to the very point of the Peninsula. It turned into an ATV trail to get there but it was a blast!

I'll show a few more Waterfalls that we seen going around the lake.

Thanks for reading. Steve

I wanted to add, I have over 27,000 miles on my bike and this is the first malty night two up trip we have taken on the bike. Michelle has never been a fan of the stock seat so before this trip I ordered her a Corbin seat. Once on this trip I never stopped for 200 miles and when I was putting in fuel she was still sitting there on the bike, I said aren’t you even going to get off and walk around any? And this was on the 4th day of the trip. She really likes her new seat. This was also the first time I have had the bike on an Interstate Highway to hammer out miles. I’ve had it on 4 lane roads but not an Interstate that I could set the cruise at __ and up. This bike just eats miles and I feel perfectly at home running ___ two up. Michelle never felt unsafe at all. I gained even more appreciation for the awesomeness of this bike.

We only rode through the park, it looked like to see Picture Rocks N.P. you might need to be on a boat.
There was so many falls I can't remember there names.
