I live in Minneapolis Minnesota and we had our "Motorcycle show" all the big brands in full force but no KTM booth with all the models on display. I could not help but think of all the small KTM or large KTM dealerships that could have had customers waiting to see some model they could not afford to stock. Wow...thats a pretty big marketing mistake from a pretty major player in the Adventure market segment. Not to mention poor support of the mom and pop shops across the state. Maybe they feel we riders in Minnesota don't number enough to justify the cost. I left feeling snubbed by the big orange crush. ::021::

I'm not sure what "Motorcycle Show" you're specifically referring to, but KTM has been on/off with the Cycle World (maybe now called Progressive or something else) show for the last decade or so. Sometimes they go to all the shows on the tour, other times a few, some years they have not participated at all. (This year, they did do my local CW show.) I don't think it is an oversight or a snub, but rather just a marketing decision on when/where to spend their marketing dollars. The cost of attending even a single show has been reported to be $100K+. Same with Apilia, Moto Guzzi, and even Triumph. BMW didn't attend for a couple years in my area. For a year or two, I think one of the big-four Japanese didn't show.

Without knowing anything about their marketing plans, I don't think any of us are in a position to judge whether it is a "mistake" or not. And for all we know, the money they saved not going to the show may be being used to better support the dealerships.

Planning on attending tomorrow, is it worth going?
