I purchased two new Kappa KGR33 cases a year ago but only recently used them for a trip which involved little to moderate rainfall (two rain showers in a 140 mile ride). I had been quite impressed by them up til now but when I opened them at the end of the ride there was a small cupful of water in each one of them.
The water comes in through the top corners of the cases. I tested this by placing a couple of litres of water inside each case and them holding them up to discover where the water came out.
Givi make the TRK33N cases which anyone can see are very similar to the Kappa KGR33. Now the Givi cases have additional clips mounted at the top corners where once there was none. This leads me to believe they have modified their cases with these clips to stop the ingress of water.
I have contacted Kappa twice but have yet to receive a reply.
I hope this info will help other potential buyers of the KGR33.
