put on the k60 this week just in time for the rain! very happy so far feels good on the wet streets. Off road alot more grip whith less slip and works great on slushy gravel. this will be my tire of choice if milage is as they say. a front mud flap is a must with these tires order mine from twisted throttle. Thanks TABASCO for hooken me up with the k60 and tryed your advice on balancing worked great .

Or just open a Photobucket account and link as I do.

That way, it can be used for other purposes as well. ::008::

You will like them even more after you put some miles on them! (learn them)

The beauty of this bike with that tire is the TCS and ABS give you the confidence you need on the road, while the actual tread pattern does the same offroad. A perfect package. Turns the S10 into a 2 wheel Hummer. A true adventure machine for the "World Wide World" (plagerizing the Dodge commercial)

They do look good on the Super Tenere. What is the predicted mileage?

When I got rid of my F800GS my Heidenaus had 9200 miles on them and they still had at least another 1000 to go. Once my Tourance EXPs are gone on my S10 these are the replacement. Great tire!!

My rear K60 is at 6000 miles and barely half worn. Expecting at least 10,000 out of it, with some to spare...

Are they smooth on the road? I am riding from NY to Alaska in June and trying to decide if I should mount them before I leave or when I get there. I know they won't be as smooth as the Bridgestones, but would you do a couple of 600 mile days on them?

I only have 200 miles on mine so far but you can feel a little vibration under under 8 mph Them they smoot out . So far I can't see any problem very impressed. I wished I had them on when I went to Arizona.

Thanks!
Yes - my previous favourite all-round tire was the Shinko 705 (on the 1000 V-Strom) but on the Super Tenere it did this;
http://supertenere1200.com/2011/10/12/my-shinko-experience/

Shinko is cheap, a bit less than half the price of the K60, but only got around 4000 miles out of them. If I get 10,000 out of the K60, it's going to be cheaper per mile than the Shinko.

It's probably about equal or a bit better off-road, not as good on road. The Shinko rubber compound is softer/grippier - but then that contributes to the shorter life. There's no perfect compromise.

If you need to play Ricky Racer on the S10, you should look elsewhere. If however you're going to Alaska fully loaded and not looking for ultimate road performance - put these on at home and go. They should get you there and back. Don't even think about putting more road oriented tires on for part of the trip, then changing to the K60s for the dirt. What a hassle!

Thanks! I also have a KLR and WR250R and I haven't really decide what the role of my Tenere will be long term.

Thanks guys,

That's what I was hoping for, I just didn't want to rattle myself loose the whole way there.

I'm a dealer for many brands of tires and we sell all types. Being that i'm able to choose what we have, and being around bikes with all the ADV tires. I personally like the K60's and for me they have worked great. As of now, I don't think I will have any other tire on my Super Tenere.... ::26::

You won't rattle too much. ;D I have 9k on mine with more mileage left on both. Over 75 it's a little more vibey than Tourances, but not uncomfortably so. I've done back to back days in the 750 mile range on this bike with the K60s. For me, those are not long days. If you're keeping to easy 600 mile traveling days, you'll be golden. If I was going to do multiple 1k days, (oh wait... I will be for the IBR), I'll be going to a Conti Trail to get mileage and less vibes at the cost of a little less dirt worthiness.
