Good day once again from Australia.. I read many posts on mod cons, like swapping the OEM filter for a K&N, and doing the Ackrapovic thing instead of the stocker.. I like the Ackrapovic can, I understand it gives a little more throat on idle, and not much different noise on cruising. I like it more cause it is lighter.
I would like to know if the K&N filter changes the bike's sound as well. I love a deep rumble, but only on idle, and only a little of it.
I run the fuse mod. Would the filter and can give me more punch, or am I wasting my money?

I think the gains are minimal with the K and N.
Sound wise, the tenere doesn't have a huge intake roar to begin with, so the k and n will not increase the noise.
The exhaust is your biggest difference.
i run a two brothers, and it's a loud bastard. I ride with ear plugs so no worries there

Gains are zero with an air filter. The restriction isn't the filter medium but the throttle butterfly. Save your money.

Like Firefight911 said, there are no power gains to be had with a K&N. Their claims are no more than illusions. And as was posted in another thread, you may want to read this...

The thread is here...

All K&N ever did to the Audis my customers insisted on installing was cause MAF issues and Check Engine Lights. Just don't get the whole reusable air filter thing - what a hassle - just pop in a new one when it's dirty.

I barely have time to ride - clean and oil air filters? No thanks...

Akrapovic looks good, have you considered others? Just got a late birthday present from my partner a Leo Vince. When I tried it first time I thought I still had my stocker on, very quiet! But at idle and if you rev it a bit from idle it sounds much better than stock still not loud but you can always remove the insert...
Thought it revs a bit easier further up in the rev range. Can not say it did the bike any smoother though as some says.
