Had a nice 400 miler on Saturday the 24th. Bob texted me @ 8:00 am and asked if I could take a run down to Leavenworth for lunch.
He had to spot check the availability for a late June luncheon with the Motorcycle Tourers Forum gathering.
I said "YES" and made plans to meet him in Salem, IN for the beat down romp to Leavenworth and lunch.
After a trial-some ride from Batesville to Salem (*road closure - detour - 10 minute funeral procession*) I was only 10 minutes late.
From past experience Bob knows/expects that kinda stuff from me. He's such a good friend he passes it off like it was nothing.
1000 pardons yet again, Mr Bob, I'll try to do better....really I will.!
After we met up in Salem and had our lengthy ride to Leavenworth we had lunch @ the "Dock" over looking the river with barges, party boats, ski boats, and everything in between.
A very good sandwich place - and the beer was cold too. (*I only had 1*)
We then headed out to do a favorite roadway of his that took us to some memorial sites.
*see below*
T'was a grand old time with my friend Bob Moore - I am so very happy he asked me to go.
my scoot with just about 20,000 miles on it. Love this mobike.
Bob asked me if I had ever heard of a plane crash near the river..."nope" - he took me there to this memorial. Felt blessed to know about it and to visit it.
