Well....after my dismal 2013, I have come to terms with the Ole Dirt Blue (more actually, Yamaha) that the little man will never be able to stand against Goliath.

So...I buy a KTM smoker and ride that while ODB sits in the garage, thinking how she let our adventure turn into a vacation for me and a shop-jail for two weeks for her.

But.....I am 'hoping' to have renewed confidence in her once more. I will be riding to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, then onto the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in a week. I plan on sabbin' it out to ABQ from Richmond, then take my slow ace time to get up to Grand Junction to pick up the missus and head down to Telluride.

What that mean? Well, I don't mind getting a hotel, but would be nice to have a brew with someone in ABQ and talk about routes up to Grand Junction. I am planning on being in ABQ the night of June 14th.

Any takers?

Hmm, I know I've seen a few folks claim NM as home.

Welcome back. Been wondering what happened to you. I had heard the rumor you bought an orange thing.

I feel honored to say I was there to see you do your first dirt...well, at least your first mud puddle crossing.

Looks like it's hard to keep you away from a track.

Luckily, I have some friends with a woods course :) Now, we shall see if the Tenere is up for some dirt action.

Was traction control the final verdict of why the clutch exploded? I heard the theories. Made sense but I wasn't sure if that was indeed the final suspicion. I always ride with it off in the dirt regardless. Just curious. Have fun on the trip!

On day 3 take 128 from just north of Moab east toward Grand Junction. Trust me, 128 is a great road. The I-70 route you have planned sucks.

i would have stayed in the high country of Colorado the route suggested by Venture. It's going to be very hot the way you are going and Colorado is at its best right now.

128 is a great road follows the Colorado river. Red Cliffs lodge is about 14 miles out of Moab and a good place to eat. They have a museum of all the movies made there. Restaurant has a large deck looks out on the river great place to watch a sun set on those red rocks. Ten times better than slab.

128 looks nice...but I was not taking I70. I was heading over to 141 in CO.

Johhny,

I'm sorry, I've failed you :-(
I don't check the board as often as I should, and I missed this thread until today.
I'm assuming you've already passed through, but as before, you are welcome to overnight at my house anytime.
In fact, everyone is welcome, if they need a place, or a hand, when passing through.
If I recall, I helped you guys get your tires replaced last year.

I think there is a RAN (Riders assistance Network) list, or thread here somewhere, I'm listed in.

Hope your doing well this year, are you on the big orange?

Bart
