I just ordered a set of 10 inch odyssey II bags. I got in on the free top case deal. Anyway I understand you can mount them with or without the grab handles. What is your feelings?

Passenger or no? Expect to tip over often or not? It's a lot cleaner looking without the handles. How about the top box, do they mention any clearance issues with? Even if you go without, you're going to need to add back most, not all, of the thickness you lose by removing them. Back to my points; passenger, lift points, or style...
Awesome choice! ::008::

I've had the handles on for abot 2 years, i had no reason to remove. However, i recently purchased a mosko moto rekless 80L system which did not fit properly with the handles so i had to remove the handles by using various washeds that came with the Jesses and a few aluminum spacers i picked up on Amazon.

Kept mine on. It didn't look removing them would narrow the width that much, since other parts start getting in the way. And they come in useful from time to time as an additional tie down spot.

Mine are fairly new bags and mounted without the handles, NOT to be used in place of the OEM grab handles for the co-rider, so says Jesse (via email). I'm not going to be removing them very often so I didn't see the need for them.

Leave the handles on and add an auxiliary set for your passenger.
The stock handles are good attachment points for tying down a duffel with a set of ROK straps.

My wife wasn't able to use the stock handles, mostly because the Corbin rear seat with a sheepskin cover is wider than stock. Between that and the boxes, there is not enough finger room. So I added a set of grab handles made to go on a Jeep roll bar. The fastening is a bit bulky, but they're sturdy. I have used them to right the bike from on its side and use them daily for pushing the bike out of the tight confines of my garage and getting it on and off the center stand.

Auxiliary grab handles

I have some admittedly cheesy mods, but they last for years and serve me well.

Looks like I'm in the minority. I vote leave them off. I removed mine when I mounted my jesses and have never looked back. Looks cleaner and the back platform offers plenty of tie down options that I have never seen a need to use them. Plus with wider rear seat there wasn't much hand clearance. I don't think the wife ever used them either.

I left mine on. The fit on the exhaust side was pretty close as it was. But if I take them off, the wife will have to hold on to me! ;)

If anyone doesn't want the OEM passenger grab handles I'm after a pair( if Santa doesn't deliver) for my Gen 2 in good used condition?

I'm in Uk.

Send me a PM with details.

Thanks

Isn't it hard to get the bike on the center stand without the handles???
With the Jesse boxes on or off there are enough places to place your right hand for the assist.
