Is this the perfect size Tenere?

I'm holding out for the xtz700 if it ever becomes a reality.

sounds good, but I am planning on keeping the ST for at least a decade... If I get another bike to will be a more around town cruiser like the Honda CB1100 or maybe the new Indian Scout.. Now if they had a TDM700 ... that might get me interested.

If you don't need much suspension travel and ground clearance. It's more of a TDM than a Tenere, but many people seem to want that kind of thing.

I think it's great that they are finally updating the TDM. May spark enough interest to get it to sell as well as it should have.

I'll be waiting for the 700cc real adv bike before I get another one. Just works better for where I live.

That triple is too wide to go off road, the 700cc twin would be far better. That said, after riding around for a day on my dirt bike, the Tenere was awfully comfy!

Interesting, all bets had been on the MT07. Might not be the direction Yamaha is going. What I want is a Yamaha rally bike with a bit if street comfort

Reminds me of the FZ6 I had. I enjoyed it for trips that envolved twisties. I bet it's a sweet bike with that motor and ergos. I wonder if the FZ1 will go bye bye? Not interested anymore my Tenere covers to many bases and so much more comfortable. I will be looking at the 700 if it's dirty not to replace the 1200. Well not at first if I continued to ride both after a year or two.

that 3-cyl engine from the MT09 (FZ09 in the states?) is an absolute peach!

i hope they don't ruin it by giving it "off road" pretensions - it'll make a fantastic acv-tourer in my opinion, or at least it has all the ingredients there.

its need to be a quality bike though - the MT is a bit budget - if it was spec'd up with plush, quality suspension (like the S10 - no really, it is in comparison to a lot) - this could be a great bike.

I still hope that Yamaha will build a GT type bike around the FZ-09 motor. Something like the Honda VFR800 or the BMW F800 GT.
I would even consider belt drive like the BMW. That would replace my aging '02 Ducati ST4s not the Tenere.
