Is there a alternative to the QRDP for Jesse top?

My S10 came with the Jesse luggage 45L top case. I don't like it on there all the time. So I seen there's the option for the QRDP quick disconnect. However, it's 245 bucks plus shipping.

As a federal firefighter about to get furloughed, I can't afford that... Is there anything else I can use for quick disconnect?

I bought their luggage adapter without the quick release and bolt the top box directly to that. It's 4 bolts to remove.
