Is it just me to take notice with KLR riders?

Not trying to start an argument as I know some of you guys have or had a Kawasaki KLR I almost bought one before the Tenere.
But it seems that a lot of these guys will snub you off when you give them the wave.
I have had folks on scooters wave at me and that as most of you may have noticed is rare.

Sort of like a Hermit on a motorcycle mentality? :-\

I only have problems with Harley riders! That's why I never feel bad riding past them when they are broken down.

Ride both....

Some riders are wavers, others not...

I do wave but don't feel snubbed if someone isn't a "waver"...

I just curse their ancestors and children....

Drive both too.

On the interstate the other day there was a guy on a BMW that did everything but stand up and flap both arms to get my attention. Gave him a nod and the simple wave and kept on. Then I started to wonder if he was braking down and needed help :D

I have had a 2005 KLR since 2006. Good bike and a good entry level motorcycle for Adventure travel. You get to ride and learn how to work on a motorcycle. The Forum expert support is just short of the Tenere. Names like 'tubebender', 'EagleMike',and 'Buddy", come to mind. KLR riders will never be out done in 'Tech Day'. EagleMike and Buddy combine to offer excellent tech days in San Diego CA and Julian CA. Have always found KLR riders to be friendly on and off the bike. As for waving... ::008::

Ha ha, going up a tooth in the front sprocket solves that problem very well, as to the turbulence ??? tossing you around when there is a semi around............

I really don't like waving unless I know someone. I don't know why riders are obsessed with trying to wave. I would stop if someone was broken down, say hello in a parking lot but waving really isn't on my agenda and I don't ever feel snubbed if others don't wave at me. I like to ride motorcycles.

Used to be that most riders exchanged a wave, these days a 'nod' is about as much as you get, a wave is rare indeed
I don't mean the Gomer Pyle wave, just the simple hand gesture is what I am saying.
I may be old or tripping but around these parts even the Bandidos will hand gesture once in awhile, and I don't mean the finger. :D
I will still slow down if another motorcyclist is tooling on his bike off the side of the road and give the point and OK hand sign.
Maybe dangerous as some may see it but it is what it is, lots of miles between towns in NM. ::001::

Ah.. the wave. It's kind of a funny custom really, one that requires taking your hand off the controls of a vehicle that, let's face it, really requires a lot of focus to ride safely and compently. It's cool though. Gives you a sense of fellowship with your fellow riders. Kind of a membership into club if you will. After all, we know something that the 4 wheelers don't right?
I happily wave to my fellow riders, just that subtle low hand jesture to acknowledge that we both know how to live life.

I have to say though. If I'm out riding on a gorgeous weekend afternoon, enjoying some scenic twisty backroad, it can sometimes become a little much. When every 8 seconds another bike comes around a corner it can get old, and I will sometimes find myself skipping a few waves. I feel like those riders think I'm dissing them, but I'm not. I'm just trying to enjoy the ride.

I have not noticed a lack in waving from the KLR crowd. I used to ride a KLR myself and I waved, as did the other KLR riders that I saw. I do notice a lower percentage of wavers among the Harley crowd though.

I'll wave at another bike ride. If he/she waves back that is nice. If not...life goes on. I am too old to worry about it.

I'll make sure to not wave when I'm in my cheap dirt gear on the KLR, but if I am on the tenere in my fancy stuff I'll wave.

FYI...this is in jest :p

I wave too much sometimes

Why do people get butt hurt when someone doesn't wave at them.....

I only wave if waved at....there are so many bikes on the road around here my arm would be sore...

Yep, when I got back into riding a few years ago, I bought a new 2008 KLR.
A fun and surprisingly comfy bike for the dirt roads and secondary highways...but, it would make a Christian out of an atheist on the slab!

Man seriously!! :))
I could really care less as well, it is just an observation, not much to do other than watch out for crazy Cagers when your driving 45 minutes one way for groceries.
If I mentioned BMW riders the board would probably light up with Pros and Cons. ::005::
