I know this has been mentioned on other threads around the web , but it deserves a thread of it's own.
All you do is unclip the clutch switch under the left master cylinder and put a jumper wire in the unclipped switch end.
Your bike is totally transformed in to the most awesome running Super Tenere you could ever want.
Smoother, better throttle response, more power everywhere, Quicker revving.
The nice thing about it is for any reason if you don't like it just take out the jumper wire and clip your switch back in.
Remember this is a clutch safety switch and it will start in gear without actually pulling in the clutch if you hit the started button.

The latest is a mini-fuse pushed in beside the wires, perfect fit and easy to install and remove.

No reports of the effect on fuel economy yet?

What exactly is the logic behind this?

Apparently it is using a totally different map in the ECU when the clutch is pulled in, so jumping the switch will give it the HOT MAP all the time.

We rode about 150 miles last night , My average MPG dash started off at 46.4 and after some roll on wheelies to empress Michelle, It had dropped to 44.5 but after settling down and just enjoying the ride it came back up to 46 by the time we got home. And I haven’t reset that Average for thousands of miles.

I have done this mod and rode 200kms yesterday and got 53mpg Imperial/ 42.2 U.S. So didn't notice any difference in gas milage. That was riding briskley too. Over 100 mph a few times. Can't really say its 15hp though. Seems smoother reving all the way up. Really hard to tell, seat of the pants power. Didn't switch back and forth. Thats next. ::001::

Just keep in mind, if you are in gear it will crank without pulling the clutch.

This sounding like one of these "too good to be true" mods. Also, with no detail understanding of the effects it might be having? Your all nuts ;)

BUT, far too easy to implement and far too tempting to not give it a shot myself and see how it works combined with an already flashed ECU >:D

Will I achieve +30 HP ? :)

just tried it myself with a simple flick switch across the contacts.

it does work

I could feel the difference in drive by flicking the switch backwards and forwards whilst holding a fixed throttle

It rapidly accelerated in the lower gears, hitting the rev limiter v. quickly.

But

I am reluctant to run my bike which has very complicated electronics whislt basically shorting a circuit, so I have taken it off

If anyone in the UK wants to try it out they are welcome to borrow my switch which bolts to the bike without any surgery - bolts to the left handguard

BD

ps +15 bhp - I don't think so !!

My sentiments exactly. Unless the backup plan is to rely on the Yam warranty.
