It's a LOT easier if you replace the bolts up front with studs. There's a thread you can find which has the sizes and such. And you get to do it again every oil change.

Definitely easier with studs- I installed my studs Sunday when I did the oil change.

For the OP, how did the skid plate fit?

I also replaced mine with studs....MUCH better. My ACD plate needed a bit of tweaking (slight bending of the front portion) for perfect fitment. Without the Altrider crash bars I used a small spacer btw. With the Altrider no spacer needed.

I was looking to add both of these items to a 2015 ES. What are these studs you're saying make it easier?

Not all of you mentioned what Year / Gen Tenere you have. The ACD plate is different for Gen1 and Gen2 Tenere's.

I got my bolts, washers and nuts from Belmetric. Delivered quickly and for a decent price since nothing was available locally. A couple minutes with a hacksaw and all was well.

I do want to bend the plate some more, as I still needed a ratchet strap to pull it back far enough to get the centerstand bolts in.

Hello

Got the ACD plate/AltRider bars on a '14 S10, works great. The plate took a few hits and did a great job; same for the bars, went down a few times and they protected the bike very well. Got the studs from ABBlender from the forum, good guy to deal with ::008::

Studs are great, I have them as well. The ACD can be a real pain to line up on the center stand each time. Infinitely better than having to get that piece in through the center stand as well. After that it's just the bolt through.

Just thinking out loud, but I really feel like with the right configuration of slotted holes you could make it 1000x easier to install/remove. Or even slot them in a sense that it can slide forward over the oil filter and then down so it doesn't have to be totally removed.

Either way, it's a great skid plate and as I was on a rocky road last weekend, hearing the rocks hit it hard made me happy with my purchase.
