Well tried to anyway. The cables are definitely not long enough. I tried the Altrider cable/clamp manipulation method and that definitely does not provide the necessary slack. Maybe it did on the Gen I?

It's kind of killing me to have to spend $125 on RideOnAdv extended cables. Seems a little ridiculous. Any suggestions for an alternative?

take the risers off and keep the bars original....... the ride on extended lines work very well , worth the money.... will take about 2 hours of your life to install , but you will enjoy the results.... bleeding the brakes and clutch carefully is what takes the time.

I have a Gen1 and use the Rox Risers. I loose the stock hand guards because I needed to move the levers inner to get more 'length'. Also removed some of the hose mountings. Bought some low cost hand guards as a replacement. A longer hose is a better solution but I am not into that yet.

I've installed the RideonAdv on both my Gen 1 and 2. Pretty easy I didn't bleed anything at the brakes or clutch. Just at the master cylinders drained fluid. Did the lines. Refilled. Then squeezed brake and clutch levers till air was out of lines. takes quite a few lever squeezes, but finally works.
I do wonder however. If it would be easier and cheaper to get 1 long line that goes from the master cylinders then to clutch and the next connection where brake lines split. Instead of going to the connection point at the steering stem/neck. Just bypass that with a long line. They sell several options including stainless steel braided for pretty cheap. Seems like it would be much easier. Anyone tried it that way?
