Highlands Yamaha in Highlands, Tx (East of Houston Tx) has a new raven black 2012 Tenere for $ 11,499. Not an endorsement of the dealership, I just thought I'd pass it along incase any visitors to our forum, was looking for a deal on a left over 2012. That's all.

I've found Highlands (Tejas Motorsports) to be a decent dealership. They've treated me well and seem to be very customer oriented with both parts and service. I have no association with them other than being a satisfied customer.

Call them first to get the out-the-door price because when i was looking for an S10 last month i called them in regards to that motorcycle and they quoted ~$13.3 otd, which is a large mark-up. The best deal on a new S10 that i found was at the Yamaha Fun Center in Boerne TX, i talked to the owner Troy and he quoted ~$13.9 otd on a white 2013 S10 he also had a good deal on a left over 2012. I ended buying a used 2012 with some nice farkles.

Talked to them when I was looking back in November. Indeed the mark up killed the deal. One would think that after almost 6 months [or more] of not moving it they would have figured out that people do not fall for crazy assembly and shipping fees.

One of the local dealership has a bunch of 'bs' charges here as well.
Their advertised price is the cheapest for any given model...but

the breakout goes:
model price $
dock fee $
Crate disposal fee $
paperwork fee $
Tax $

Their dock, and crate disposal fees are $300 bucks each. When you ask them about it, they simply say that it's their policy and they cannot move on the fees.

thank you, and i'll buy from someone else

The crazy thing about "crate removal" is that most trash hauling firms will supply the dumpster free for recyclable materials, which in the case of a motorcycle crate is all of it.

That price as advertised (sans fees) does nothing for our resale values...:(

Im not reselling anything, like the bike too much.
God knows I saved a crap load going to the states and plating the bike in canada.

what pisses me off is the 'get them in the door price' and 'real OTD price'

You're right, keep it and put a couple of hundred thousand miles on it instead. Resale means nothing at some point in the mileage.
