I went to the motorcycle show today at the convention center. They had the new shiny tan tenere at the yamaha booth. Of course it's not available in ES. The upper plastics have a little flared lip at the back edge now. Everything else looked regular. I like the stickers, too.

I met someone from the board, but have already forgotten your name. Sorry, man.

NO HONDA BOOTH?!?!?! unless I was in some alternate dimension for a while and didn't notice.

Yeah. They have an Africa Twin with some stupidly bright LEDs on it. At least they weren't honking the sound bomb this time. They had a smaller booth and I think a tire display.

I was there also with a guy from our Baltimore "Land of Pleasant Living" group and we hung around the Tenere for a bit. Can't say that the tan turned me on.

The show is much down-sized from previous years. No stunting exhibition area and even more vendors missing and at this point, the Timmonium, MD, show is much bigger, which will be February 10-12, 2017

We both did support the economy. He bought a beautiful set of Mosko soft luggage. Sorry but don't remember the amount of discount he got, but it was good. Those Mosko bag sets are incredible and if I didn't already have the hard boxes I'd buy a set to go with a lockable top box. The outer layer is a rubber impregnated fiberglass rather than nylon like nearly all the others, and a bag there went through a 70 mph slide. Hard to miss the Mosko display, as the have a flag on the far wall when you come down the escalator. A couple of relevant links:

I picked up a new Shoei Notch helmet for $509 from www.helmetsounds.com in the far corner.

I talked to a couple of vendors - one big and one small - and both said that the DC Convention Center prices have gone so high that they have trouble justifying attendance.

That pricing thing doesn't surprise me. They also opened 30 minutes late because somebody who was helping put up the scaffolding for the Suzuki booth had left a huge motorized scissor lift machine on the floor without the keys. They had to bring in two fork trucks to take it out the back corner through the vendors. I bought ear plugs, and almost got a BMG jacket, but wasn't ready to buy something for "fat me" right now especially since my Darien is just fine.

We stood in that line and wondered what the wait was for.

I happened to be the first one in line, so we were talking to the management lady. The fire marshal wouldn't let them open while the equipment was still on the floor "because it would be tempting for people to climb on and possibly injure themselves". They could have just put some ropes around it. That guy right at the bottom of the escalator with the T-Rex had to guard his own vehicle for a while until they got him ropes to put around it. Even though it had tags that said do not sit in vehicle, a guy walked right up and opened the door and was half way in before the owner got him to stop. It was sort of a weird vibe this time.

Not a big fan of these shows.....
In Dallas the location stinks. And at the same convention center, they have at the same time EVERY year a cheerleader convention. Teens and below. The area is packed! You have to pay to park, and either sit in a line of traffic or park far away. You can park free if you ride your bike, but it is downtown in heavy traffic. They you pay to get in which I don't get? So your $20 out of pocket by this time. You don't see anything that you can't see at the dealerships and the people working the vendor booth know nothing about their product. No Honda!?! What a joke! I have a couple of friends who own bike shops and they stopped having a booth because of the ridiculous prices they have to pay for a spot.
