Ended up getting a good deal on a demo loaded out with Yamaha accessories. Picked up Friday. Feels like a bigger version of my XR650L
Likes so far:
Pulls hard in any gear
Handles like it is much lighter than it is.
Nice upright seating position.
The stock grip warmers rock
I enjoy the convenience of the hard bags
Tried out the ABS and it is pretty neat
I like the Sport mode
Pictures don't do the Impact Blue justice, it has a lot beautiful metallic in it
Dislikes so far:
Like others the seat in the high position is canted forward a little too much for me. There is a cheap mod to fix this though.
The little kickstand post is pretty useless
Stock bag locks are definitely fiddly but with care are workable
The windshield buffeting is no fun at highway speed (Wasp bracket here I come)
Going to have to look into the silver side panels to replace the black.
So far it is a great ride. Looking forward to exploring some back roads off pavement soon.
