I think for you Heidanau K60 guys, Greg the Pole maybe onto something with his Mitas 07s. He talked another pal of mine into getting them and must say for $235. a set, they are a very impressive looking 50/50 tire. Very similar looking to the K60s. Super tough side walls and aggresive tread pattern. They'll be a bitch to mount, I bet. Just another option. Heidanaus are enjoying all the glory but are high priced, so need a little competition. ::001::

My new dream tire would be any knobby that could last an oil change. (4000 miles)
I'm nursing this Karoo to see if I can make it last until my 24000 mile service. (700 to go)
It's gonna be close.

I am totally ok with the street performance of a dirt tire on this bike. It simply requires me to de-squid on tarmac.
But the payback is every second or moment spent cutting across ditches and corners and fields on my daily rides.

I just need to find an "oil-service" lifespan.

Went with the Anakee 3s...very happy with them, though I've only got a few miles on them.

Supposed to be good on both gravel and wet...we shall see.

My K60s look like a set of old Army truck tires at this point and the solid center rubber is getting really slick on wet pavement. Glad for the excellent traction control and ABS with the wear at this point. We just came back from some dirt roads and they still grab in that environment.

i mostly ride road and am seriously considering ordering a set of the Anakee 3s, so look forward to reports about how folks like them on gravel and how they last. Been reading the few GS reports that people've written so far, and they are looking promising. Obviously not up to K60 standards off of pavement but better than most 90/10 tires off-pavement. The Beemer owners also write about on pavement not having the worn K60 howl in corners or low speed knobbie buzz.

Even not broken in, they handle pavement much better than the K60s..I expect to be hitting some gravel in the next month and will post a report.

K60 rear, karroo T front. Do alot of hard gravel and limstone. Also much sealed. Just on 10000 km now. Karoo is worn right down, but i could get 2000 to 4000 more on that rear k 60. Ill go k60 all around next. Karroo is a little loud and vibrates slightly on sealed. Does track well in sandier tracks.

I have about 2500 miles on Ankee III's and they are holding up good. I find they they handle the loose limestone roads very good. The bike does not squirm when driving in the loose areas and very good wet and dry paved road manners.

Hey Anthony :

just re-ordered my 3rd set of BattleWing 501-502 (E) ' s

I cannot get over how many miles I get out of a set.

+8000-9000 miles rear and +12000-14000 out of the front.

I need not look any further...found a really good price @ Motorcycle-Superstore too.!
