After 3 years of ownership, 50k mi, trips to both Inuvik and Darian Gap and Ouray I'm getting BOARD with my bike. :(

Handles like a dream, I can flick it in a different direction any time at any speed and on almost any surface.
Love the stance, seat's good. Can haul lots of crap and still feel light and nimble.
Takes a beating off road, if you got the balls she will get you up and over almost anything.

BUT, I AM REALLY CRAVING MORE POWER!

She doesn't thrill me like I once was. Pretty sure she's not getting slower, I'm just thoroughly familiar with the capacity. Flash did nothing imo.

Guess I'll just have to suck it up and enjoy the great handling.
Ain't likely to run out and get a KTM 1190 A R. Sure would like to test drive one though. :p

Nothing wrong with getting board and wanting a change of pace ! 3 years is and 50k is a lot. Go test drive the KTM and that will make up your mind. 3rd gear power wheelies are big fun ! I went the opposite direction from high HP bikes to low HP. The last high HP bike I had was the Ducati Multistrada about same weight & HP as the KTM and the problem I had with it was absolutely no FUN unless you were breaking at least a few laws and destroying the rear tire even with traction control it ate tires. Riding that bike just above or around any speed limit was really boring kinda like driving a turbo Porsche in a parking lot. Any way the older I get the slower I go and I'm really liking the ST because of low end power. Not sure about the KTM but on the Duc anything under 5k Rpms was very boring. I've owned 2 BMWs and a few ktms and every one of them required fixing or had inherent problems that IMO should not happen on such expensive bikes. That's another reason I didn't buy another euro bike I guess that's maybe the price you pay for performance. But the only way to scratch that itch is go buy one you will probably love it. If you get the KTM don't forget about us I'd love to hear your review of the KTM compared to the ST.

Park it for a bit, get a KLR or something along those lines ride it for awhile, then get back on the Tenere and you will feel like its a monster!

Seriously, I used to get bored driving around my 500hp charger, I would drive something else for a bit and boom, it felt like the maniac it really was.
