IBR 2017 | Start Video

Shot by Steve Bracken's HelmetCam. Steve sadly had to drop out before Leg 2 was done. Down but not out. He'll be back.

LOL, a crash before they even start rolling. I've read where folks get all twitchy before the start. ::26::

There were at least 3 trailer incidents before the start. With minor injuries. The rider that dropped his bike at the start has done the IBR 5 or more times. Foot just slipped, no nerves there.

Put over 100 bikes in the same parking lot and herd them around, stuff happens. ::001::

Mark Crane just sat down in scoring. 6 more riders that have not come into the scoring room.

Setting records in how fast the riders are getting scored.

Wow, a nice list of California stops. ::26:: I was wondering about that group of riders that passed through.

Is Ken a previous winner? The name rings a bell.

Ah, that was it, his infamous wreck in '10.

Ken is not a previous winner, but has been a previous IBR rider and finisher. Last night, Jim Owen became the first person to ever win the IBR twice.

He is indeed. Thanks again Eric, you saved our IBR.

I'm glad I could get you and Lynda going again, but you two are simply amazing! To lose that time at the start of the 2nd leg and then move up to such a position is truly a display of sheer determination and focus.

Bravo to you both. ::012:: ::012:: ::012::

That's nice of you to say Eric but I was over-ambitious on leg 2 after you got us going then we had a good leg 3...well apart from getting to Sault Ste Marie much earlier than anticipated and not really having anywhere to go from there! On the last day of the IBR we had a nice ride round the top of Lake Superior which was definitely a highlight of our trip.

We took the S10 over our GSA because the Ténéré has cruise control which helps with my damaged right elbow - I used the CC a lot. We were intending selling the bike when we got back but we really enjoyed riding it and it just seemed to be getting smoother and smoother as the miles were added. It's now going to remain in our custody, proudly wearing its IBR sticker.

We've done a write-up of our IBR here if anyone is interested.

Kevin
