If the carbon side panels are anything like the carbon fork guards then they will be very very light but also very thin and may not be as robust to a spill as the standard plastic panels. which is a shame as they could have sacrificed some of the weight loss for some strength given the image of go anywhere the world crosser is trying to portray. :

The side panels are very thin, perhaps between 1 and 2 mm
