I crashed a rz350 never could get the steel head frame just right. Ithe plastic has got to be easier than fixing a bent up metal head stay
Just a guess it would go in the top part of the stay, maybe to help in assembly or provide some spacing. I did not order any, but will look at the old part when I remove it.Does anyone know what Item 31 (double sided Tape ) in the diagram below is supposed to secure? I don't see it on my original Stay and the diagram is not clear. There is only one listed so it is either not symmetrical with the right side or perhaps it goes somewhere on the neck of the Stay.

Assembly aid to keep it in place.Double sided tape is under the bottom nut retainer clip. Doesn't appear necessary.

I thought about long term fix...may be spray it with linex spray ? Or wrap it with carbon fiber?Finished today after getting side tracked with replacing fork oil, re-lubing the steering bearings, and fabbing a new dash infill panel. It is not a hard job but it does take some time. It would be easier without an infill panel. The way every thing bolts together on this pretty amazing. The part is definitely NOT over engineered. Seeing the multiple failure modes has me thinking there are probably more of these failed than people realize. I fully expect this won't be my last one.
