Beware! Something about Honda wiring harnesses attracts mice. No joke. Be careful how you store that for the winter.

I don't know if they used it that far back, but back in '17, Honda was involved in a class action lawsuit. It was about their wire insulation. They had changed from petroleum based insulation to soy based. And it was directly due to rodent infestations. Honda denied that was the reason for the increased rodent damage, but they offered a "rodent tape" to help prevent new damage. To be fair, several other manufacturers ended up being sued for the same reason(s).

Looked the old wing over, everything works, but owner didn't know when timing belts were done, so I ordered a set. Can't be more difficult than to adjust the valves on the S10. Brand new front tire, rear has a thousand miles on it. Fired up nicely from his cold garage, settled into a nice smooth idle. For what I'm paying for it, if it breaks down far away from home, I'll just sell it for the price of towing and fly home.

They still offer the Tape.
I keep some here at work.........................we've had quite the problems with rabbits and mice chewing wires on all the newer vehicles over the years, here in our Fleet.
I believe the Tape is formulated with cayenne-pepper either in the adhesive, or in the plastic itself? Something along those lines.

You definitely want to wash your hands after handling it........................
