I'm on the hunt for my next bike, which I believe is going to be a Super Tenere. Last 2 bikes were a TW200 then a Ducati Scrambler Desert Storm. I've found that after taking on some off road above my skill level, that I probably prefer more street than dirt. But I still want to hit a few dirt/gravel county roads around me. I'm also wanting to do some longer rides. I thought about a FJR, but after sitting on one, I didn't like the ergos. I'm a big guy and the FJR felt cramped, just from sitting on it. So, here we go!

Welcome, from Joshua. I too have a TW, and my kid has an FJR. The riding position on the Tenere is better than the FJR. I'm a pavement princess and the Tenere is my favorite bike ever.

Oops you forgot to mention different springs front and rear along with a different seat.

So far the non slippery Corbin seat I got from you has been working excellent for me but about 300 miles in a day has been the longest ride so far.

Lol, I was talking ergonomics... I also did the Alaskan trip of 12,630 miles on the stock seat with an Airhawk seat pad. Suspension is an individual thing and depends on how you're going to ride it... so those didn't get mentioned. Yes, I bought Cycledude's RDL seat after the trip as it was to tall for him but nice for me. So full disclosure, I did a lot of things which are chronicled in my thread "What TenereGUY has been up to" but if being a big guy means around my height the ergonomics are good. If you're heavy or going to be riding two up then a rear shock spring change is in your future... and also a fork spring upgrade to linear springs would help.

Glad you're liking the Corbin non-slip seat.
