Howdy, I'm Mike and I hail from just south of Ft. Worth Texas. I don't currently have a Tenere', but I think one will be my next purchase. I rode one several years ago at one of the first demo days before they were released for orders with my wife. We were told we were the first in the country to ride it two up for what ever that's worth. I also have several friends that own them. I'm beginning to seriously study the accessory market so I went ahead and registered in case I had questions. I've already read a good bit of useful info and I look forward to reading more.

Welcome to the forum, you came to the right place to learn about the Tenere. Haven't had any problems with my 2012 model, but if I ever do this is a great go to site.

Welcome aboard Mike (aka FNG)!!! Lots of good info here to help answer your questions.

BTW, the '82 Seca 650 in your sig - was it a Seca Turbo? I had one for a couple years back in the mid to late 80's.

Again, welcome!,

Thanks for the welcome. No, my old Seca was normally aspirated. I'm not getting forum email notifications for postings. I guess I need to do some invetigatin'. We'll look forward to having a new Texan soon too. Check out the Two Wheeled Texans site if you haven't.

Mike,

Welcome to the party! Just down the road a little bit from your location. Good luck on your search for a S10.

On Monday, I dropped off a check for a 2014 with a bit over 2200 miles on the clock. It has just a couple of farkles including a rather unusual crash bar. I'll probably go pick it up on Friday and I'm looking forward to making it into a nice touring machine.

That's the second LOW mile Tenere in the last week. I don't get how somebody spends that much money, and then keeps it in the garage. And this one is already farkeled. I remember, back in the day, VMaxes got purchased, scared their owners, and never ridden again. But Teneres are not scary, so....

Congrats on the new bike. I'll be looking for you.
