I say Ten-Err-Ay....but I'm from the midwest and might have that MN accent. I've heard the proper way was from the French, Teh'nehr-eh...best way I can pronounce it via spelling.
In fact it is in french. That is why you have the line over each e and in french it is ténére, which is a region of the sahara desert. I'll say the "é "sound like "hey" for you. The accent and syllab is on an after each é. So in trench we say tè/né/ré and in English it would be closer to something like tay/nay/ray.
