How to check codes on a gen 1 ST

I have the service manual but i cant for the life of me find the instructions for checking diagnostics codes.

I dont have a cel at the moment i just want it for my notes.

If anyone can help with the procedure to check codes on a 2013 I would be very grateful.

The Workshop Manual (or is it the same as the Service Manual, the one with 660pages?) is easier to decipher.
Once you get the hang of it, it is all clearer.
Basically, the values, etc. is in the manual is the acceptable range, on/off or what it should be or points to the offending bit/part.

You have to do some cross referencing and rationalize the error and your error value/reading with the Manual.

Don't know it off hand, but the procedure is in the manual.

Setting the diagnostic mode
1. Turn the main switch to “OFF”.
2. Simultaneously press and hold the right set button “1” and left set button “2”, turn the main switch to
“ON”, and continue to press the buttons for 8 seconds or more.

Does anyone know if you actually have to disconnect the wire harness from the fuel pump just to read the codes!?!

That seems like a huge pita just to read the codes.
