I was just surprised that age group 16 to 40 counts for less than 12% of us.

I almost never see anyone over 50 years old or so riding motorcycles around here.

In my area:

Most people my age or younger ride crotch rockets.

If they are 40 or older, they ride Harleys.

Almost no exceptions to those rules in my area.

I don't think I have ever seen another Tenere or Beak Strom (newer suzuki v-strom 1000) around here yet.

I have seen a few young Navy sailors on KLRs but that is about it. Adventure/dual sport bikes are very rare in my locale.

I do know 1 guy who rides a BMW R1200GS adventure but he is the only one I see.

I just find it interesting how much the demographics and age groups of riders varies majorly depending on your location.

After riding in deep sand with the S10 and feeling how light the KLR was ( I know it's the heaviest 650 DS Bike you can buy but it's still lighter than the S10!), I'm really itching for one. That, or a 2 stroke 250 8)

WR450 if they are street legal in FL. Not in CA so most go for a WR250R. I am not a fan of sand.

Yeah, so sand in Florida vs. sand anywhere else in the states mean two very different things.

This is Florida:

Who is the Youngest and Oldest riders? These ages are not an indicator of bad or good rider... just an age.

We'll. my Super10 was my gift to myself at 45 this year.

I'm actually glad I bought an old fa... er, Mature Rider's bike.
I had my '06 Ninja 650 fir 9 years and I got tired of the same ol shit in the forums and the boy racer wannabees.
I do have to say one of the perks of the tenere is this forum and it's general camaraderie.

Just turned 54 a couple of days ago. I'm not going to tell how old my wife is, cuz women are funny about that stuff. Her birthday is the same day as mine, but she's two years younger.

How many other happily married couples ride Super Teneres?

And you still think the KLR is advantageous in deep sand? ???

Conquering sand like that without great effort or technique, on 2 wheels, requires "staying on top". (I know you already know that)
For 2 wheels, that's dirt bike requirements!
