How Beer saved the world!

That's right, Beer saved the world. I watched a fun show on Discovery over the weekend that documents the development of beer some 9000 years ago and how it is believed to bring about the transition from a nomadic people to farming society.
There were lots of other very important developments that came directly from its existence, like pastuerization, refrigeration, first automated machine, American revolution, tetracycline, ETC...

So, let's hear it for BEER :exclaim:

That's why in Wisconsin, known for its rich agricultural heritage, has bars dotting the countryside. From North to South, and East to West beer is one of Wisconsin's past times. A highlight to a visit to Chippewa Falls, just north of Eau Claire, is the Leinenkugels Brewery ( 15 minute tour and an hour and a half in the tap room).

Pretty clever show, I really didnt need a good reason to drink beer before but now that I realize im benefiting society I feel the need to help as much as I can.... The fact that the program was sponsered by Miller - Coors makes it even more funny.
