If this was here and street legal, this might be a cool alternative for the guys that want the XT660 that will never show up here.. This Honda will probably never go into production, or if so never be brought to the US... But if both of those happen it might be priced really expensive for a "450"...

Any how, cool looking bike.... thought I would share.................

I would like to see a Factory supported Yamaha Tenere 1200 out at one of the open class rally... I would love to see a "works" Tenere out in the desert!!!! ::012::

For a long time now Honda USA has been the king of the factory custom and the HondaBago (Goldwing) is still the luxury touring icon. But everytime I stop at the local shop I can't help but feel sorry for them. There is never anyone there. Perhaps they are finaly going to turn some attention to the ADV, D/S market.

That would be awesome, and yeah I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw it this morning. ::26:: Then reality hit. I can't imagine Honda bringing anything that exotic over here. :(

Dammit Jaxon,
Why'd you have to go and show me that?

That's exactly what Yamaha should be working on. Or, at least importing the 660.

Cool bike , but I wonder how it will do in the Dakar ? Honda's only won the Dakar 5 times. BMW has won 6 times , Yamaha 9 times and KTM 11 .

I give you points for being consistent. No matter how much contrary evidence exists, you are consistent.

I'm all for more and more Adventure bikes in the market place. That Honda looks heavy for a 450, but I'd welcome another entry if they bring it.

I almost clicked the report to moderator button...can we do that for someone who is too dumb? Is there an intelligence level that we need to be on the forum? well, I believe JaimeV has some evidence. I know you have seen it....seriously, can we report people for being too dumb?

The whole world is turning upside down

The new Honda looks like a KTM, the new KTM looks like a BMW

Sorry guys, I had just got done riding my KTM 300 XC-W today in some pretty technical Arkansas terrain. When I got home I lifted the KTM onto it's bike stand and there was my Tenere' sitting next to it. I looked at the KTM, then back at the Tenere' and thought "Gawd, who would want to deal with that S10 pig off road"? I know, apples and oranges. I walk inside my house, flip on the 'puter and see Jaxon's post.

I had to chukle out loud. :D

Great commuter bike though! ::008::

Yeah, WTFPete, I am really only starting to question your ability, not the sanity of those who can off road a big bike. The reason some wrestle with one off road is the same reason why they don't limit racing to pedaled vehicles. I mean, why would you want to wrestle a BMW s1000rr around a track when you could ride a trek? Get over yourself and your ktm, no one cares about it.

I think this is the beginning to the return to Honda to have a proper adventure bike (not like the Crosstourer).
I've got some information that we are going to see that quite soon: The return of the Africa Queen?? ::012::

My first couple of bikes were Hondas and i loved them. I've owned more Hondas than any other make through the years but right now nothing in their line up appeals to me. Hopefully that will change. I plan on literally wearing my tenere smack dab out. It if dosen't see six figure miles i'll be disappointed or just unable to ride. I would like to see a lighter class dual sport in the 400cc range, fuel injected and a strong enuff sub frame to carry tent, bag and stove over rougher trails than i care to take my Tenere. I'd also love to retire in good health to enjoy the trips i read and dream about. I do hope Honda will get more envolved. You know the saying wish in one hand.

Forget it, don't make any notice of it... nothing to do, he only likes attention. ::)

If I were in the market for a mid-sized dual sport, the KTM 690 Enduro would be very high on my list. That Honda just doesn't do it for me.

Yea.. Yea... But like the old days where they could 'run what ya brung' "works factory" bike... This is a fancy fixed up stock bike... But still cool....

Ya know the old days in MX, where they had the hand made aluminum frames where the stock frames where steel. And a ton of one off parts.. Like an off- road GP race bike.. Never gunna happen, but would look cool ! LOL ::008::
