But of course if Honda had done their own they will use that, assuming it's not a bit errm "BMW" IE Too clever and Fragile. Two types of GDi are used in two-strokes: low-pressure air-assisted, and high-pressure. The former, developed by Orbital Engine Corporation of Australia (now Orbital Corporation) injects a mixture of fuel and compressed air into the combustion chamber. When the air expands it atomizes the fuel. The Orbital system is used in motor scooters manufactured by Aprilia, Piaggio, Peugeot and Kymco, in outboard motors manufactured by Mercury and Tohatsu, and in personal watercraft manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). One of the things I have found fascinating is that both Honda and YAMAHA have had all this interesting stuff popping up over decades that has ended up in the back of the R&D lab never to be seen again.Dallara said:One of things I have always found fascinating over the years is that Honda has often been the company who has made so of the biggest technical advancements in two-stroke development and engineering. The EXP-2 is just one example... All from a company whose founder once said he would never build two-strokes! ;D
