I'll play as I've "KLRd" a couple of things for the bike.

My fave so far is the homemade Worldcrosser style tank pads - cost me all of $8.00 and work like a champ - cut from 3M Nonskid strips like you'd use on a ladder for traction. Note: they were a bit too rough and I had to smooth them out a bit as they were wearing my riding pants too much...

Hey Dogdaze! How's the project coming?
I'm getting there, bit slow as I didn't order the 1" ball, and now back in Switzerland, so ordered it and awaiting postage. Have no idea where to get some of the stuff over here, so it all comes from the UK ::010::

I've managed to find everything, on the internet, only problem it's all in the UK. Over here in Switzerland, you tend to have to go to specialist stores for specific items and they are not easy to find and certainly not internet based so cannot just order online. But I'm getting there, just slowly. I guess it makes for a more interesting project.

That is one tricked out, one of a kind, engineered bike RC.

I've read each project as they took place, but just never credited it all to one machine.
Amazing.

OK. I figured if it was something you couldn't find, I could probably send it to you.

Thank you, Snakebitten...the latest project is a set of crash bar bags, repurposed from a couple of US Army gas mask carriers. They're looking pretty good, so far.....

Thanks for the offer, very kind of you. I'll bear that in mind should I come to a dead-end on one of your projects ::008::

LOL, no, Dogdaze, though I admit that would be kind of a cool look. I found a couple of M40/M42 gas mask carriers while rummaging around a surplus store a few years ago. Super heavy duty nylon, really well made, and only six bucks apiece (if i recall correctly). They are like the perfect size for crash bar bags. I had 'em on my V-Strom at first, but since they were green, they looked crappy against the blue of the S10. So I've re-engineered them for a second time, cut off some straps, added some new ones with quick release buckles, painted them with Krylon Fusion black paint, and so far they look really good. The photo shows the original gas mask bag, how it looked on my V-strom, and how it looks now.

I'm waiting on a couple of embroidered reflective patches for a finishing touch....the patches cost more than the project LOL....

Thank goodness for that! had me worried there, I was thinking there's no way I'll be tackling that one........although, if you change your mind, allloy crash bar luggage would be kind of cool. Just saying... ::017::
