Anyone out there get any word on latest shipment on Holan Nomada panniers? I called last week and was told prolly this week now. I thought they were to ship by 2nd week in April. Still waiting without an update from the importers.

I was told, by phone, speaking directly with Rob to expect a call today or tomorrow. That was back when the whole "who's next on the list" thing poiled over.

Sadly I can give them all the time they want now as I destroyed the bike hitting a deer the end of last week. Dealer trailored it away yesterday. Working on a pictorial post should be online this weekend as I recover from the wrist being pinned / plated. Just one note hitting a deer on both the FJR and the S10 revealed that the front structure of teh S10 is ABS square tubing...the FJR was metal...guess which one exploded?

I just got off the phone with Bill, he states that the mid month shipment they were "expecting" is now at least ten days out...

The Jesse bags are looking better every day :-(

Crap! Well I'm giving them until I get the bike back or a new one...if nothing at that time it's going to be silver TTs. Only other stainless steel mounts I'm pretty sure. And the box look that I think goes so well with the bike.

just talked to bill at moto insights. they have dropped holan panniers siting the trouble with holan fulfilling orders. said they will email folks with orders as soon.as they can. sucks but what can you do. wish touratech had a cutout for the exhaust side.

You could oder direct from Holan in Poland? It worked ok for me, but it is less complicated within Europe.

I can't understand why a business like Holan would operate in such a way that the importer says to its customers that this or that day will be the ship day and then more delays from the manufacturer. These really are the panniers I am after, and the delay/ wait and see/more delay is disappointing. I can't fathom that the importer(Motorcycle Insight) is the reason for this, unless I am naive.

Do they still expect an order to come in? And then no more?
i was told no.

hey matt pretty interesting that you ended up with yours long before mine. i remember you calling ne lucky for living right up the road from holanusa!

i m going touratech for the square box design. wish there were other options but i think only bolan and touratech had the look i want.

thought about ordering from poland but they would not respond to my email inquiry. so not taking that chance.

if you look up holan on adv you can see that the same exact scenario played out for other bike applications.

i dont hold anything against moto insight you know they would sell if they could.

Hi,

Yes I remember that too, and I am really sorry about the way things have gone for you. Out of all the pannier systems I saw, it was always Holan for me. They just look right. I even had to disappoint one of my best friends who is the Euro importer for Jesse luggage by going the way of Holan. Holan were pretty receptive to deal with once I got hold of Aleksandra, and everything went smoothly. When I had a small issue with the finish on one of the lids they sent another straight away before me sending back the original, so overall really pleased. From ordering the cases to receiving them was less than 2 weeks, including the time of the money transfer to clear. I also bought the inner bags and the headlight guard as I was feeling the need for extra stuff.

I agree that the Touratech are next on the list, and I had almost gone for them until the Holans came into the frame. The only disappointing thing about the Touratech cases is their overall width, but they look amazing.

Regards,

Matt

Yea I know , Moto Insight is trying to offer up a product and dealing with a manufacturer that cant supply them with that product in a timely manner. Nothing against Moto Insight. matbe they can offer up Andy Strapz soft luggage and racks! That importer is gone now, good stuff from down under!

Sigh, I finally gave up, and ordered a set of Jesse's Bags.
They shipped them yesterday, I should have them by Friday. ::008::

Your guess on how Holan operates is as good as mine. We've been very clear as to what our expectations have been all along. It's painful getting guidance stating that they are, "packing boxes" and then not having items ship for weeks afterward. In the case of the Tenere pannier kits, we have unfulfilled orders dating from February and this upcoming shipment was initially 12 kits, then 10, then 8, and finally this morning before we pulled the plug it was 4.

We have imported their product since 2008, and for the most part absolutely love what they produce. I have one of their pannier kits on my F800GS now, and I don't want to give it up. It's just a shame. It eats me up in side, honestly.

We actually offered that at one time when Eurotech was importing them. There was very little interest, and we ended up blowing out whatever soft panniers we have left when Eurotech went belly up.

I think I still have a seat bag or two that they produced, if you're interested. I'll practically give them away.

FYI, this was posted on ADV.

"Effective May 1st, 2012, Motorcycle Insight has ceased importing Holan brand merchandise into North America. We are ending our business relationship due to numerous reasons, including the fact that Holan has been consistently unable to fulfill our orders in a reasonable time. In the end, we believe that our customers deserve a high level of customer service, and we do not believe we are able to deliver that with Holan as a partner.

We have chosen to liquidate the remainder of our Holan items on Adventure Motorcycle Depot. On Adventure Motorcycle Depot, you can also find many similar items to what Holan manufacturers, all of which are immediately available. Examples of what we are closing out are:

Nomada Pro Panniers & Pannier Kits for the F800GS
Crashbars and Headlight Protectors for the R1200GS
Crashbars and Headlight Protectors for the F650GS Single
Crashbars for the V-Strom
Crashbars for the KTM LC4 and LC8
Much More!

Most items are 40% - 75% off of retail. You can view the Holan Liquidation Sale on ADVDepot.com by clicking HERE.

All other Motorcycle Insight sites are OPEN FOR BUSINESS as well!"

Sad situation. The number of folks who showed interest in the Holan setup had money in hand ready to buy.
