Just wanted to say Hi. Ive been riding for over 40 years(damn Im old ) and have got the itch for an adventure tourer. Havent placed a deposit yet but Im sure that will change soon. I had to do the same thing with my FJR a few years ago and a RC51 honda before that and know the pain of waiting for a new ride. With all the new ADV bikes coming out and the established ones already on the market I feel the Yamaha is the best choice hands down. My current ride is a Bandit 1250 with the factory Suzuki hard bags and trunk not to mention all the other gotta haves that just seem to appear over time on my bike.

Hello and welcome Mondo Endo from a fellow Socal neighbor. I think you have narrowed it down to a good choice. Get that deposit in soon.

Welcome Mondo . I only ride Yamahas but have always thought that 1250 Bandit would be a great street bike. I'm sure ready for my first real Adventure Bike .

Welcome Mondo Endo. If you are looking for lots of reasons to plop down that deposit and order up your new S10, you've come to the right place. Be sure to read through the threads and ask questions. There are quite a few guys that post on here that have been strapping on these Adventure Machines for years on the other side of the pond. I have been an avid enduro rider off and on over the years, but I have learned alot about what to expect from my new Yammy. Cheers and best of luck in taking the plunge sooner than later.

Welcome, are you considering Temecula Motorsports on Jefferson as a dealer?

No, my son works at Malcolm Smiths dealer in Riverside and could use the commission check. We bought his DRZ 400 SM from TMS before he worked at Malcolms and really didnt like the experiance. The salesman seemed to get really pissed off that we negoiated such a good deal and didnt say thanks or even screw you when we left with the bike and of cousre no follow up whatsoever....Malcolms shop is really is run by riders who know bikes, and they have Yamahas yaaaa. I know...... a long answer to a simple question.

Mondo,

It's all good. I had a similar experience in ordering my Super Tenere. Neither of the dealers in Columbus, OH I talked to would even budge off MSRP, one even tacked on another $99! The other was snotty when I told them I wasn't paying list. I am OK with them holding out for full price, it is a business decision after all. But don't give me grief for exorcizing my option to look elsewhere for a better deal.

Oh, and welcome to S10 land!

Welcome Mondo Endo! You must be an old fart like me, but believe me - you will enjoy the riding position of the large Adventure Touring bikes (and the SuperT)!!!

Oh good grief...I was at Malcolm Smiths looking at the KTM 990 SMT and Adventurer before I decided on the Super Ten.

I ride out by Palomar and the Julian area all the time, so many dirt trails and fire roads out that way to explore and out off of S-2 out by Ocotillo wells and the old Butterfield stage coach line.
