Hi everyone! I live in southern Indiana just north of Louisville, KY. My current ride is a 2012 Kawasaki Concours. I got the chance back in June to do a demo ride on an Africa Twin and it has peaked my interest in an adventure bike. I liked the Africa Twin, but I really don't want to go back to a chain drive or tube tires so I decided to check out the Super Tenere as it is a shaft drive and tubeless. I've come here to learn about that bike and possibly purchase one if things work out. I'venot had the chance yet to throw a leg over a ST or take one out for a ride, hopefully I'll get to do that in the near future. I look forward to learning more about this bike.

PS. If anyone is interested in a Concours 1400 mine will have to go on the sale block to buy a Super Tenere.

Our paths should cross sometime and go for a ride. I got get a good eye on the ST and pick your brain on what you like and don't like.

I spent the first eighteen years living in Connersville, In. Great town at the time, have not been back since 1977. Enough of the history lesson, glad to have you on board. You are going to like the ST, try to get an extended demo ride. You might consider day's rental, with a refund of the rental fee if you buy. I have done that in the past seems to work.

Good Luck

Welcome to the forum Landon!

I'm grounded from riding for another couple months but give a holler and you can check out my ride. Keep away from Jims bike, it's way to fast...

Good luck on your bike decision. My friend and I picked up 2016 ES models this spring. They are well planned out and seem to be the real deal. Riding on a mix of highway, secondary small poor pavement, gravel and dirt roads the bike is very stable. I feel the bike could be used 2 up as well as the seating is roomy enough. I am missing the wind protection of my BMW K1300 GT but will consider a larger wind screen in the future. For the money, these bikes are hard to beat.
