Hi guys. Been lurking on here for a while now and after picking up a Tenere a couple of weeks ago I'd thought I'd say hello... Hello! Great looking informative site btw..! Well after thinking I'd never sell my beloved TDM900 I did the unthinkable a week last Saturday and part chopped her in for a 11 plate blue/silver S10 . Did a 300 mile round trip to pick the new steed up in some pretty bad stormy weather, but guessed it would be a good test to feel its merits in the atrocious conditions (can only get better when I use her in good weather I thought too). All the same, it performed as I hoped and gave me a great feeling of invincibility... The TDM was a great bike and I wanted lighter again I'd be happy to go back to one, but can't see that happening as I'm now besotted with my new blue S10. What a awesome machine! Already started on the list of things to buy with the first toys through the post beingTouratechs screen adjuster and some wind deflectors. H&B Engine bars, Raid toolbox, Colour coded hugger to come for sure at some point and and maybe a Vstream screen even though the OEM screen performs quite well already. Either way, a lot of fun riding and accessorising to come... :D
Heres my new love last weekend on its first of many campnights. Cheers...

Welcome on board. Two of my friends sold their TDM and replaced it with the new S10, after test riding my Snowflake. :)

Yep I was gobsmacked how easy in the end it was to move on from the TDM to the Tenere. My old 9er did everthing I asked of her, but the Tenere has had me secretly hooked for a while now, even before I testrode one. No looking back..!

::004:: from up here in th Lake District tenbob. I remember having a few beers in 'ye olde trip to Jerusalem' many many years ago, probably 1970s. There was a rope with a ring on the end which was attached to the ceiling in a cave like room, the idea being to land the ring on a hook attached to the ll..crazy or what? Or was I just pissed? :D

Howdy, my Mrs recently bought a TDM, a really nice bike, we just had the suspension re-worked on it and it is now really sweet.

The S10 will serve you well, but budget about 15% more for fuel - judged by our recent tour of the Alps where she went further on 20L than I could on 23L

Hi Rasher. Wish I could of kept my TDM as well. Great, under-rated bike... Like touring myself n looked at all the pros and cons between the 2 bikes n with mpg, I knew the S10 would lose here... But do we really care!! :D

Over a tank full I can normally get upper 40's, and low 50's if on slower back lanes and single track roads. Mine picked up a few mpg with the Flash. Swinging on the throttle can easily drop it down to low 40's, but going steady can also get it close to 60mpg.
