Hi Folks, new to the site and to SuperTen ownership. After 11 happy years with an R1200GS, I fancied a change but still wanted the big engine, shaft drive etc, local dealer had their demo up for sale (base Z model) and after an hours test ride, I bought it. It came fitted with full Kappa luggage and tank-bag.
The original Bridgestone tyres were a bit squared-off so swapped them for Metzler Tourance, and promptly set off for the south of France!
Can't fault the bike so far after 2500 miles in 4 weeks of ownership. Quicker than my aircooled GS and just as good in the twisties. I do need to fit heated grips and a mount for my Garmin, plus the winglets I bought for a steal off the GS forum, but otherwise I think it will stay just as Mr Yamaha intended. Even the standard screen seems OK for 6ft me.
It won't be doing many 2-up miles as Mrs W has the rear seat of a K1200LT to relax into. Glad to be aboard
