Hello ALL!

JC from Mich bought a new ST a couple months ago and joined forum to learn more and accessorize more intelligently. Former street and dirt rider and but off motor bikes since several years in favor of mountain bikes and kid taxi. Got the itch again. Looking forward to learning and new friends.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm in the Detroit area, not many ST's here or GSA's. I guess we're just not that adventurous in the Motor city.

Looked extensively at the GSA before going the ST route, I'm very happy so far and will use the cash saved to get the bike ready for a long trip out west next year. Most things are on track except for range, that Beemer tank is massive!

One thing that amazes me is what you all do with this bike in the dirt. I came off a MX bike 450 and cant imagine taking this beast through the sand and swamps in Mich. I'll stick to tar and fire roads thank you!

I bought my Tenere after leaving Michigan. I don't think I would ride the Tenere on many of the trails I rode other bikes on there. Too much mud and sand whoops. Out West, this seems to be less of a problem, as most everything around here is rock, rock, and more rock.

Enjoy all those great dirt roads there, from memory they seemed endless.

Welocme and enjoy the new bike. I grew up in SE MI and do miss the area. In my area of OH all of the roads are paved or covered in loose stone. When I was a kid growing up used to send the summers in Lake City and West Branch. I need to go back for a weekend and run the dirt roads and 2 tracks in the state forest.
