Hi Guys,
Minus 17 celcius this morning. Dreaming of bikes since I cant ride. I got back into riding in 2001 after having a dirt bike as a kid and getting my bike licence in 1983.
I have owned a long list of bikes since then, mostly Vstroms,(650s and 1000s) with a 1200 GS,a couple klrs,a couple DRs an XT250 and assorted other regular street bikes. I sold the GS last fall. At the moment all i have is my 2007 DL650 for my commuter/salty road bike.. My wife has a cb500x and an xt 250 while my daughter took over my xt 250. Im in the market for another litr bike and the S10 is in the running.Going to look at a 2016 this morning as a matter of fact. I'm also considering Triumph explorer 1200s, Triumph Trophy,Versys 1000,and of course the old habit vstrom 1000 (from 2014 up ) or maybe even a new 1050. I dont do any offroad, just lots of gravel roads. I'm 6'3" and down to 235 lbs now but have arthritic knees that dont like to bend too far so I probably need to stick with adventure bikes. My wife and I usually take one 2 week plus bike trip every summer with a few long weekend trips every year. I test rode a new tenere in 2016. I wasnt in love with the engine at the time but I have read a lot of posts from guys that own them saying they grew to love it with time.Anyways..... hoping to gain some knowledge. Its always more fun shopping than buying.:)

Welcome from Massachusetts, US. My knees, like yours, didn't like being bent as much on my FJR which led me to my ST. Not the same engine for sure but like they say I'm enjoying it more and more each time I ride it. Still miss the get up and go of the FJR but age doesn't like being bent. Go with the ST, you won't be sorry.

Say hi to Willie for me!
I was one of the ones who was not impressed with the engine, well not so much the engine as the delivery. At best it was average and the worst part was letting off the throttle, I almost sold the bike after the first year. Then I caved to the pressure and got it flashed and tuned, now it is the bike I expected. It was the best money I have spent on it. If you get one and it isn't flashed then get it done ASAP. The engine itself is good, strong and reliable so I would not have concerns about that.

Hi from Cambridge Ontario. We've rented a cottage in Southampton for a lot of years. I've been up and down the Bruce Peninsula a number of times enjoyed a lot of back roads and trails up there on both the motorcycle and mountain bike.

I love the bike and never want to stop riding it but I get that it's not for everyone.

Enjoy your search!
