Hi all!
I`m thinking about a XT1200 which I have been doing before it was even released.
Still not 100% convinced it would be much better for me than the Suzuki DL650 I currently own, maybe this site will finally convince me.
Also own a Yamaha R1 & a Suzuki B-King but even if they have much more power e.t.c. my main ride is the versatile DL which I also taken across the country with pillion and all.
Would love to go around Australia one day and think the XT1200 might be a even better bike?
Thanks for having me here!

I think I saw your post on adv. Welcome.
Those dl650 do have a following. They're a great bike.

Welcome Red Dust!
There is a lot of information here and even more opinion. The DL is a good bike and you already own it! The Super Tenere is a little more dirt oriented and less expensive to drop based on reports to-date. The unified braking, the drive modes, the ABS and the traction control (combined with the fact that it is a NEW BIKE!) may be hard to resist.

Good luck in your decision what to do.

Welcome Red Dust! Yeah, the Wee-Strom is a great bike. You've come to the right place to get the info that you need to help you decide. Take the time to read through all of the posts here and you might just find the tie breaker that you're looking for.

Red Dust, love that moniker. Had an uncle that lived on a station way west of Toompine which is west and south of Quilpe. Lots of red dirt (and flies) Mum was from Adavale, schooled in Charleville just before the war...more red dirt. I was born in Brisbane, Nundha Hospital actually and have family in Geebung. You come out ok from the floods there?

Welcome to this forum. Great group of riders and unusually polite

Red Dust, welcome. Obviously none of us in the US can give you an opinion of the S10 vs. the DL650 yet, but it sure seems like the S10 is a worthy upgrade. Hang out a bit, share some tales, ask some questions. Heck, you can take your time deciding and still probably have the bike faster than us Americans. :( :D

Welcome to our Forum Red Dust!! As others have said, the DL650 is a great bike, but I think you will find the SuperT to be a MUCH better bike in virtually all aspects.

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
Will take the S10 for another test ride and this time with a pilion since I mostly ride 2 up.
toompine: the floods were bad but where I live (Caboolture) it was not too bad, could not go to work for 3 days....
Cheers.

Welcome. Test rides are the way to go (not that very many of us in the U.S. have had the opportunity). Sometimes one just has to have faith. Ha.
