Hi all,
I have just put a deposit on a new 2016 Matt Grey ST. Hopefully I will get my hands on it early next week.
I am parting with my VFR1200F for this bike. I loved the VFR but shoulder, neck and wrist ache have finally got the better of me.
I have been looking for a replacement for over a year now having test ridden the KTM 1190R, Ducati Enduro, Honda Crosstourer, MG Stelvio, Aprilia Caponord, GS, Triumph Trophy, Africa Twin....all these left me feeling that they were not worth giving up the VFR for...
After a 900 mile 3 day trip of joy and pain on the VFR I decided I would test ride the XT1200ZE. I had not considered this bike seriously because of the average reviews in the mags...
All I can say is I immediately had a smile on my face.
OK, there is an obvious power difference compared to the VFR but I loved several things about ST...
-Low speed riding without constant gear changes (soft power)
-Smooth
-Very relaxed riding position / great ergonomics
-Cruise control
-Great suspension
I could go on...
I normally get back on the VFR after a test ride and say to myself why would I change...not this time!
Can't wait now...
If anyone has any standard panniers...
