I've been a long time ADV'er, putting many miles on my '06 VStrom 650.

It's getting close to finding a replacement, and the Super Ténéré seems a great one, though I haven't made that final decision. I've always been a Yamaha fan too.

Whatever I end up with, this seems like a great forum and I'll enjoy learning all about a wonderful machine.

I have the Super Tenere and a V-Strom 650 ::008::

The Yamaha is a fine machine, seems much higher quality (as it should for the extra cost) and obviously far more grunt is on tap, but the Strom can still make me smile :)

::004::...coming off the original '02 VStrom DL1000 and of course there is a huge difference in technology on my '13 ST.

Absolutely love this bike!

Whats not to like, The ST is fine and a great machine for the money. The ST will exceed most riders talent, but it is still fun.

Good Luck

I - as I'm sure are many others here - am a former DL650 owner. You won't be disappointed. The S10 is a significant upgrade from the DL650 IMO.

Let's see here, we've got the US South, Southwest, Southeast. SE Asia, the UK, and Canada representing. All within about 3 days of intro.

That's a nice global hello right there! ::003::

Hope to meet some of you guys eventually.

Welcome, I almost bought a DL650 EXT but opted for the ST. Both bikes are wonderful, but I think the ST will suit my 250 lb frame, and be more forgiving when I overpack for trips.

Welcome aboard !!! Plenty to learn here that's for sure . Looking new or used ?
I'm open to either, depending on the deal.

My thought right now is to possibly get a new overstock '15 ES. But a few things need to be sold first. I'm not in a big hurry.

And you're right -- plenty still to be learned.
