Hi All,

Have been lurking for quite some time but finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2013 in white. I live in Toronto and drove 13 hours round trip to pick up the new bike from Montreal. It had 5Kms on it and the price I just could not beat. I had a White Tiger XRX on order but when the pricing came in at 13700 I said too much considering the Tenere was 4500 less.

I will not go crazy with mods.

Looking forward to getting back into riding after 15 years of being out of it. Also looking forwards to reading, learning and sharing with you fine folk.

We will remind you of that "I will not go crazy with mods" statement.

What did you do that for? Now you'll never be home to do your Honey Do List. Big Grin Factor. Another Canukian bites the dust. Speaking of dust, be sure and make lots of it for your buddies. I heard they like it.

Hi all,

I've got a blue 2012 ST that I bought 'new' this March and have so far ridden ~ 22K miles. After the OEM tires wore out, I put Michelin PR4s on it, which work great for riding on mostly paved byways. Rode down to Redding CA and had Seth Laam rebuild the seat --a great improvement since my own seat never broke in after 18K miles. Also, I just got the ECU reflash from AVC8130 (T enhanced and Sport gen 2). Don't have enough experience on the reflashed ECU to comment much, but I like it so far. I prefer doing my own maintenance work and am now thinking about the valve check that's coming up soon. Have been reading advice on the Forum about this.

One other comment, my previous bike was a Triumph Tiger 800 that I really liked in most respects. However, it stranded me 3500 miles from home for 11 days when the immobilizer failed after a day of riding in heavy rain. This experience more than anything else, plus a very limited dealer network in North America and Canada, led to my getting the Tenere. It's been good so far although I wish it weighed a bit less.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. Yes I guess I should take it back.....compared to you rem I am in the tropics. As for not putting on many mods...I really need to control myself this time. 8 years ago I bought a 96 miata. I really wanted a bike but had young kids and thought the miata would fill the gap. Started on a few mods then bit the bulllet and ended up putting 500 LS2/3 in the car not to mention modifying everything but the gas tank......ask me if I am kidding? I am not.

I finished the car and it still sits in my garage...I love it. It is a rocket....passes everything on the track, is s sleeper, looks amazing yet it is not a bike. So the car is for sale and the bike sits in the garage right beside the car.

Yesterday I managed to try this bike for the first time. I bought it without a test ride. All I can say is wow is it every light on its feet. Had no plates so couldn't go far and it was cold so worried about the rubber on the turns given gravel and such. That said love it. I will be honest at only 5"9 and 157 pounds it is a bit intimidating at first but that quickly falls away after feeling its road manners.

I look forwards to the journey where ever it takes me and yakking to you guys.

Bravo Bravo that sounds good. I don't have any riding buddies so getting out with local riders would be a day well spent.

I have a ton of questions on clutch mod, ecu reflash, panniers, Cruise........here I go again.

Welcome sutol1! I am about an hour west of you in Cambridge. It sounds like we got enough Teneres around for a group ride next year.

I've had mine for one season now and can't wait to get back on it. The only thing I wished I had done sooner is go with some 50/50 tires. I plan on swithing over the winter to open up more possibilities.

You will love the flexibility of this machine! Enjoy!

Not to worry, old son. I'd take my cold over your snow any day of the week. I got nothing on you. ::008:: ::008:: R
