He's using CLR, which is a pretty good soak in its' own right.
So where is the test of just letting his parts soak for the same amount of time in the same CLR without the vibration?

I have used pine-sol for cleaning small parts. Does a great job and smells nice at the end ::025::

No need to vibrate it either.

If you watch carefully, it is already gassing away before he hooks up his High-Zoot ultrasonic attachment.

CLR is quite effective, but since it is an acid, I'd think he'd want to disassemble first, and do a neutralizer bath second. It might be a bit much for zamac castings. It will damage bathtub fittings very easily, gets under the plating and dissolves the zamac underneath. We live in rock-hard water land, lots of people use it around here. eats the seals right out of septic pumps. Good stuff.

I can see the jar winging across the shop right now, spraying acid solution on everything as it hits and shatters.

He's a keeper. I wonder if he has brothers named Daryl and Daryl? ::025::
