I was offered a set of Hepco and Becker Junior Flash 30 litre boxes and Quick Release frames at a very good price... the only issue was that they had come from a 2015 non ES S10, while mine was a 2014 ES model
Having done numerous searches trying to find out if they would fit.. I finally took the plunge and bought the kit 8)

From what I could find it seemed if there was any issue at all it would be with the plastic cover on the RHS interfering with the fitting of the plate that holds the QR locator hole on the frame. It fits with the use of spacers where the grab rails fix on the bike.

I found that the bits you leave on the bike fit fine, with no issues, including the bit that goes behind the right hand foot peg. Where the non ES has an open space, the ES has the rear suspension cylinder bolted behind it, but it did not affect fitting of the QR brackets.

The issue I had was with the pannier frames themselves... having mounted the top QR's in place, the bottom ones, that attach rear of the foot pegs, were in totally the wrong position. It looked to me like the rear footrest hangers were actually too far out :(

Luckily I have a good friend who is quite handy with his TIG welder... and I spent the day at his place yesterday sorting out the 'realignment' of the frames to make them fit.

the right hand side was (relatively) easy , he cut the down tube and then welded it back at the right angle to meet the bracket on the foot peg.

The exhaust side was more of a challenge, as the down tube actually did not seem long enough... He had to cut and attach a 15cm length of solid bar to the lug that holds the QR bolt, and then angle it correctly to meet the down tube.... quite a ball ache.

7 hours of messing about later , a few coats of Red Oxide primer , and top coats of black and they are on the bike and fit ::014::

The boxes are 38" wide, the same as the handlebars... the right pannier seems to lean out slightly, but not by much , and the frame is in fact vertical...

I've sprayed the panels on the boxes to match the top case colour

The whole set cost me £225 , plus a bit of hassle, so It's been a worthwhile exercise when if I wanted Ally boxes you would be talking £6-700

Hello Bryn, All,

Wondering if you, or anyone else can offer some advice.

What Hepco & Becker Pannier frame part umber do I need for a 2015 non ES model. I've spoken to the UK importers (moto-bins) and they have two part numbers 650-4531-00-01 and 650-4540-00-01 listed.

From what I can gather:

650-4531-00-01 - for older Gen1 bikes

650-4540-00-01 - for Gen2 ES bikes

But they were not 100% sure which version fitted the Gen2 non ES !!

Does anyone know which part number is the correct one ?

After further research on the H+B German website, I eventually ordered the 650-4540-00-01 - for the Gen2 bikes. It comes with two sets of top fittings for the Z and ZE models (longer spacers for the Z model as they don't come with grab-handles in the UK/Europe)

Hopefully I got it correct ::008::

Let us know how you get on..... the problem with the set I had was that the top mounts fitted fine, the front mount that connected near the rear foot peg were in the wrong position, they needed cutting and re-welding to get the angle right. I seemed that the ZE was a bit wider on the foot pegs, hence the issue ::003::

Hi Bryn,

Finally received the frames yesterday. The 650-4540-00-01 is a perfect fit for my 2015 Z model, you must of been supplied the wrong spacer with yours (there are 4 different sizes available)
