Super tenere friends, I'm desperately in need of front break pads for my bike, it appears I've got a sticky caliper on one side, and half way up a mountain today it was metal on metal, we rode to the nearest Yamaha dealers about 30 miles away and they don't open weekends , I don't really want to wait till Monday, can any of my European biker mates help please, anywhere open tomorrow or does anyone have some handy, I am very near aosta in Italy, spread the word please, thanks

I'm a little too far out for you I'm afraid, but if push comes to shove, remove the offending caliper, leave the pads in and secure the now 'dangling' away from the wheel, perhaps on the outside of the fork leg. You will be okay to ride like that, obviously use care about speed but you will be okay with one side braking, also you have the rear. You have a wrench in the tool kit to remove the 14mm caliper bolts, best of luck.

We share those pads with a number of other models, and I see references for:
BMW K1200 LTs (some)
BMW R1100S 00-05 pads are for bike without integrated ABS
Kawasaki Concours
2005 Yamaha YZF-R6 (probably others too)

Not sure but possible:
2012 Triumph Bonneville SE
2009 Ducati Monster 1100
2011 ninja 1000

From our forum parts reference list in the Tech section:

Yamaha OEM Front brake pads: 2C0-25805-00-00 per caliper
(old part # is 2C0-W0045-00 per caliper)
EBC Front Brake Pads: FA380 HH
Ferodo Front Brake Pads: FDB605
Galfer Front Brake Pads: Galfer Part # 178 - Compound G1375 HH
Vesrah Front Brake Pads - Metal/Organic: VD-248JL
Vesrah Front Brake Pads - Semi Metallic: SD-248

[Make?] SBS - 634

If there is anything at all left of the pad, each wears differently, so swap it with the thickest.

Personally, I would rather ride with a shot pad and risk destroying a rotor than with a dangling caliper.

CW, problem is that parts of EU are closed for Sunday trading.............

Very aware, but wanted to give him as much useful info as possible - just in case he found some car parts store or elsewhere which had at least some pads available.
