For the PC-8 feed itself, I'd say stick with the 30a fuse. That way you haven't limited the capacity of the fuse block itself.

If you really want to see what your full draw is, the formula is the same. Just add up the wattage of all the accessories you plan on running, then divide that number by the (nominal) 12 volts of the system.

@creggur, if you used 13.8v, your overall amperage will go down (owing to the inverse relationship between voltage and current), so if you do drop below 13.8, your fuses might be closer to the edge. Using 12v gives you some more "headroom" when calculating draw...
Much appreciated AVGeek. ::008::

Well, this answers all my questions about the install as well 8)

I'm just in the process of moving house, but once settled will install PC8, heated grips, GPS, lights, compressor leads, and USB port.....

This forum is brilliant for information, makes owning this bike a pleasure ::008::

I'm on about the same "electrical" level as Mzee, but "n boer maak n plan" (a bloke makes a plan) :D

X-Box I am amazed at how much I have learned from this forum. Folks have made me do what I would never have done without their contribution. It has saved me lots of money and besides I enjoy spending sometime doing stuff. The patience of folks, the time one takes to explain minute details, etc is a true spirit of rider fraternity. Thank you every one; always know that I profoundly appreciate your goodness. ::008::

Mzee, I am about to do a very similar task. Where did you mount your Stebel? Do you have any pictures if the horn mount location?

Fuse it for the lowest common denominator. Since the harness is big enough to handle 15A, you'd want to shift your focus to protect the lights. W/o a multimeter tapped into the circuit, it's hard to say if there's much spike at startup (given LED's are really efficient - I doubt it), but 3A should be adequate. If it blows, 5A would definitely be the stopping point.
My PIAA harness has a 20a fuse. I want to cut it out of the harness when I connect it to my Eastern Beaver harness. So a 3a or 5a fuse should be sufficient for them too? They are the LED PIAA's.

Fabricated a bracket and mounted in as shown in the photos. Hope this helps.

I need some help with selecting the correct connectors from Eastern Beaver to hook up to the factory aux light and heated grip plugs.

For the lights I think I need to order the mail half of this connector: 3P090WP-MT

For the heated grip I think I need the female half of this one: 4P090WP-MT

Both are on the page here:

http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/Sealed/SM-MT/sm-mt.html

Are these the correct connectors?

As a side note, what is your favorite PWM to use with heated grips?

Thanks!

:)

You only need the pins. The connectors are already there, just with blank plugs in the wire holes. That said, there is a $20 minimum order. And yes, I believe those are the correct connector p/ns that you listed to match the oem connectors for heated grips and aux lights.

Warm & Safe Heat-Troller is what I used. Very high quality and good people, not a Chinese made, backwards engineered copy.
