hi. I am heading back to Colombia after riding through Peru and Chile and I am actually in Quito, Ecuador.
I blew my rear shock and I am considering on upgrading. I have an appointment with a race tech technician on Friday to try to fix the shock and get back toColombia.

What shock would you recommend to me? Wilber's, ohlins, touratech, stoltec (Penske), nitrox (unknown).

Thanks

Nicolas

That's almost as bad as asking what oil is best. Everybody has an opinion. As you go through the suggestions, watch for the ones with a beefier shaft, as you probably do more rough dirt than most. Rebuildable would be preferred too.

I think it a version of the Mojave. It was the first Super Tenere suspension he had done.

What ever you can get. Wilbers is on par with Cogent, if I recall correctly. Penski is a bit more upscale, Ohlins, if set up correctly, pretty darn good, but perhaps the most expensive. Touratech is supposed to be good too, but $$$. I've had Wilbers and had no issues with the shock in over 100k of use.

I just sent off my forks to Cogent and having them build a rear shock for me. I am excited to see what a custom suspension setup will do for me. Was a reasonable price too...at least in my opinion.
